This role will provide as a comprehensive Benefits subject matter expert responsible for the assessment, design, development and implementation of an organization-wide global benefits philosophy spanning a variety of benefit programs, including but not limited to retirement programs, health and welfare offerings and wellness programs while ensuring cost effective delivery. This is both a strategic and hands-on role for someone who is a strong problem-solver, has exceptional project leadership, agility with detailed financial analysis and an innate continuous improvement mindset.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Develop and lead the benefits function while identifying synergies, prioritized harmonization, applying best practices, ensuring regulatory and reporting compliance across the company’s global businesses.
Oversee all facets of employee benefits plan design, policies, budgets and operations, along with being responsible for analysis of the effectiveness of the company’s various benefit plans and programs. This is an innovative, changing environment and the incumbent has the opportunity to introduce new approaches and concepts to the benefits function.
Develops engaging and informative communication programs designed to keep employees and management knowledgeable about company benefit plans.
Negotiate vendor relationships, administer contracts and monitor performance to ensure high degree of effectiveness.
Keep abreast of and analyze market trends and state-of-the-art benefits options.
Promote a culture of health and wellness via preventative and engaging healthcare programs. Includes creating and sustaining a global wellness platform, with concentrated efforts in the U.S. and extension to other countries on a prioritized basis.
Oversight responsibility for the centralized management of U.S. health & welfare offerings, including communications and on-going education using a range of media, including for annual open enrollment process.
Accountable for the cross-functional coordination of the MKS Instruments 401(k) Investment committee, including participation in the regular meetings.
Participate in other HR and business projects including participation in M&A due diligence on all major acquisitions and integrations regarding benefits.
Skills You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 7+ years of benefits experience (both corporate and/or consulting)
Extensive experience with benefits administration and solid understanding of benefit programs in multiple regions across the globe.
Proven thought leader in benefits strategy, particularly in the U.S. as well as regional offerings globally.
Strong financial acumen, including managing budgets and performing various cost/efficiency analysis.
Ability to understand strategic benefit issues and change initiatives to recommend alternative solutions. Includes the ability to prepare compelling analysis and presentations to negotiate and sell-in appropriate change initiatives across all levels of the organization. Includes effective change management approach and related communications.
Effective leadership for managing the direct reports, along with close coordination of regional HR and C&B.

*This position can be a hybrid role of some remote (M & F) and onsite days (Tu - Th) each week once initial onboarding is completed. The role must be based within commuting distance to MKS Corporate HQ in Andover, MA.
