MITRE is seeking a Benefits Analyst to support MITRE’s Benefits Department. The successful candidate for this position will develop relationships with plan administrators and support more senior team members in the development and ongoing maintenance of dashboard reports to support program design and management.MITRE is listed as a Top Place to Work in the Boston Area by The Boston Globe and one of America’s Best Employers by Forbes Magazine.
Provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs. Gathers data needed to support queries via vendor partners and administrators, interprets the meaning of the data through mathematical analysis, and summarizes information in an Excel or PowerPoint format.
Analyze plan cost/utilization and trends to provide recommendations for plan design revisions that are consistent with benefit objectives and strategies.
Develop effective relationships with carrier and administrator contacts to support ongoing analytical needs and future initiatives.
Collaborates with internal team members to support the development of program proposals.
Analyze benefits data from market and benchmarking reports to identify benefit trends, tracking legislation and estimate impact, develop executive updates, and support program design.
Participate in special projects, as needed.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Bachelor's degree, and four (4) or more years of experience in benefits plans, or a Master's Degree with one (1) or more years of experience.
Advanced PC skills in MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint.
High aptitude for math and statistical and quantitative analysis. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability.
Excellent written communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to clearly, concisely, and persuasively compose correspondence and narrative reports.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and simultaneously implement multiple projects.
Self-motivated, deadline driven and able to work with little direct supervision. Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
