The Benefits and Compensation Specialist will have primary responsibility for supporting day-to-day administration of benefits and compensation programs. Working closely with the Benefits Director and Compensation Director, this person responds to employee inquires, conducts research, prepares presentations and documents, and ensures the integrity of our data. Additionally, this position will work closely with the senior HR management team to develop and launch HR programs and initiatives as well as provide general support as needed in the following functional areas: training and development, policy implementation, onboarding, and compliance.

Benefits Responsibilities

• Works closely with Benefits Director to perform all related duties in support of the firm’s benefit programs and processes; to include:
  • Assist in responding to all benefit inquiries, including communication around plan coverage inquiries, assist with claims issues and prompt resolution of any other benefit related issues
  • Manage leave of absence and disability administration
  • Manage COBRA administration
  • Assist with managing self-insured medical plans, working closely with broker and Finance to track and project expenses
  • Assist with managing existing benefit vendor relationships
  • Assist with managing the UK benefits program
  • Oversee vendor data feeds
  • Manage the reconciliation and processing of payments for monthly benefit related invoices
  • Conduct benefit orientation sessions and assist with enrollment support for all new hires
  • Assist with managing wellness programs and take a leadership role on the Wellness Taskforce
  • Work closely with Benefits Director on annual open enrollment process and the production of annual total reward statements
  • Work closely with Benefits Director to research and implement new benefit programs
  • Assist with compliance of all federal or local employment regulations that impact current benefit programs or policies
  • Reply to state disability and unemployment claim forms
  • All other duties as assigned by the Benefits Director

Compensation Responsibilities

• Works closely with Compensation Director to perform all related duties in support of the firm’s compensation programs and processes; to include:
  • Work closely with Compensation Director to design a compensation package based on business goals and strategy
  • Conduct salary and labor market research and analysis to define best practice trends
  • Provide verifications of employment for current and former employees
  • Work closely with Compensation Director during compensation annual review process
  • Process salary changes, promotions and related job changes
  • Create and analyze job descriptions and classifications
  • Conduct periodic compensation audits, prepare and present reports
  • Coordinate and manage firm wide Employee Recognition Program
  • All other duties as assigned by the Compensation Director

HR Generalist Responsibilities

• Works with other HR leadership to perform all generalist related duties, to include:
  • Assist as needed with human resources responsibilities such as recruitment, onboarding/ E-Verify and I-9 process, employment verifications, employee off boarding (updates in our HRIS and conducting departure meetings), performance management and any audit/compliance requests
  • Participate in activities associated with the development and implementation of new systems, processes and policies
  • Provide project management and administrative support on any special HR projects.
