The Department of Mathematics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Actuarial Science Program at the University of Connecticut (UConn), Storrs, invites applications for full-time, 9-month non-tenure-track faculty at the rank of Lecturer in Actuarial Science beginning in Fall 2022. The position comes with a competitive salary, benefits, and is renewable annually based on evaluations of satisfactory performance. The University of Connecticut’s actuarial science program is a vibrant program with nearly 400 undergraduates, 25 master’s students and 6 Ph.D. students. Since its inception, our program has contributed over 1,400 baccalaureates and over 600 master’s graduates to the workforce. It is one of the few Actuarial Science programs of its kind in New England. The University of Connecticut’s Actuarial Science Program has been a Society of Actuaries’ recognized Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) every year since 2009 and was one of the original 13 schools named worldwide. Today, it is one of just 33 schools so recognized throughout the world and the only one in New England. In 2016, the program was also named as a Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) University Award Winner—one of just four schools so identified in the first year of the CAS Award. That recognition is available once every three years, and the UConn program won that award again the next time it was eligible in 2019. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
