Experience:

• 5 or more years professional experience working in accounting
• Experience hiring, training, and supervising employees.
• Experience motivating, directing, and training people.
• Proven track record and experience in an accounting role.
• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control.

Abilities & Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal/customer service skills. Confidence in conveying information to all members of NYA’s community, including faculty, staff, students, parents.
• Ability to collaborate with others and work as a member of a team.
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work.
• High regard for confidentiality and high ethical standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under the pressure of deadlines.
• Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work with detailed information with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work in a school environment.
• Ability to use technology such as email, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to learn how to use North Yarmouth Academy’s accounting software.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
